Email Guidelines for Students

The Jack Jackter Intermediate School Library Media Center serves approximately 500+ students in grades three through five. The library media center is staffed by a full-time Librarian, a full-time Technology Specialist and a full-time Library Paraprofessional. The library has a collection of almost 35,000 resources including print, digital, video, and audio. The library collection supports the current curriculum as well as providing materials for students' personal interests. Several subscription databases are available. See the library staff or a faculty member for user names and passwords.

Hours:

The Library Media Center is open to students from 8:10 to 3:05. No student is allowed in the LMC unless an LMC staff member is present..

Circulation:

Books are circulated for one week and can be renewed. Students are encouraged to ask the library staff, teachers and peers for suggestions. Holds can be placed on books through Destiny, our library catalog.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Colchester Information and Technology Literacy Program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. The school Library Media Specialist empowers students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers and ethical users of information.
