What's Happening at JJIS

What a busy week of performances and learning here at Jack Jackter

Band and Chorus Concerts

This week, our 4th-grade Cub Band, 5th-grade Jaguar Band, and outstanding 3rd-5th-grade chorus lit up the stage during their winter concerts. Our students performed amazingly with confidence and tremendous heart.
During the day, they showcased their talents in lively dress rehearsals, and in the evening, they wowed families with truly memorable performances. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and growth throughout the first trimester have been truly inspiring.
We are incredibly proud of each and every student for bringing their best and creating a concert filled with joy and music.

Jackter Showcase

On Friday, we held our first-trimester Showcase, and our students truly shined! This event provided them with the opportunity to present the incredible work they had accomplished in their Hot Spots over the past several weeks.

Our Reader’s Theatre students brought stories to life with expressive, engaging performances.

Sign Away proudly demonstrated the sign language skills they’ve been working so hard to master, impressing the entire school with their dedication and teamwork.

We also celebrated our amazing Unified Sports team, who were honored with a grant from Special Olympics. A recognition of their commitment to inclusivity, sportsmanship, and community.
We are so proud of every student who participated. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and hard work made this Showcase a joyful celebration of learning and achievement!

Technology Update

In technology, third graders took a closer look at the information they learned about cyberbullying. Students used a checklist to improve their notes using PebbleGo, a “scholarly” source. We reviewed what a citation is and why it’s important to give credit to the source that provides us with information. 4th-grade students wrapped up conversations about phishing and how to identify whether or not a website is real or fake. Fifth graders concluded their independent research on cyberbullying this week.
