Fourth-grade students enjoyed an exciting trip to the CT Science Center! They experienced the force of hurricane-level winds, explored what it takes to become a meteorologist, and discovered the effects of Earth’s gravitational pull. Students also participated in a hands-on laboratory activity where, working with a partner, they designed and built their own roller coasters. Through this engineering challenge, they learned about kinetic, stored, and potential energy.

It was a fantastic day of learning, discovery, and fun!

Our October ROCKS winners enjoyed a special celebration of pizza lunch with the principals!

Each grade level visited with Dr. Ewings and Mrs. Cyr, enjoying pizza and ice cream together. Students had the chance to talk about their learning, discuss upcoming holidays, and share fun riddles in a relaxed and welcoming environment. It was a wonderful way to recognize their hard work and positive choices! 

This week we had one of our teachers’ favorite spirit days of the year. Students had the opportunity to dress like their teachers and teachers dressed like their students. Our teachers spent the day comfortably dressed and everyone had lots of smiles and laughs.

Meet the new and improved Dr. Ewings and Mrs. Cyr

This Saturday our Girls on the Run JJIS team will be participating in the Waterford 5k Turkey Trot. They have worked hard to prepare to run the distance and are ready! They will be joined by 150 other GOTR girls from our Southeastern CT district and are super excited.

This Wednesday, the girls completed their Community Impact Project. The girls decided to make kids birthday boxes for Colchester Social Services. They filled the boxes, decorated them with notes of positivity as well as made birthday cards. They will be brought to our Colchester town hall where they are ready to distribute them to local families in need.
