Lunch with the Principals

Our ROCKS winners for September enjoyed a special lunch with the principals! Each grade got quality time with Dr. Ewings and Mrs. Cyr, filled with laughs, jokes, magic tricks, and “would you rather” questions. What a fun way to celebrate our amazing students!

Apple Picking

BASES and UL Visit Holmberg Orchards!

Jack Jackter’s BASES and UL programs recently enjoyed a fun and educational trip to Holmberg Orchards. Students learned all about the life cycle of apples, the different types of apple trees, and how apples are harvested and stored.
Fun fact: There are over 7,500 varieties of apples grown around the world!
The day included a hayride, a barn tour, delicious apple snacks, time with friendly goats, and of course — apple picking! It was a wonderful day filled with learning, smiles, and fun for everyone.

3rd Grade Learning Highlights:

Our third graders have been hard at work diving into exciting learning across all subject areas!
In Language Arts, students explored the realistic fiction genre through stories such as The Dream Catcher and Yoon and the Jade Bracelet. These texts helped students strengthen their understanding of character development and using text evidence to support their ideas.

In Math, students are applying the distributive property to solve multiplication and division problems, composing and decomposing arrays, and tackling two-step word problems with confidence.

In Social Studies, they’ve been learning about the three branches of government, legislative, executive, and judicial while discovering the unique roles each branch plays in how our government works. All this fun learning will help to prepare for their upcoming field trip to the Old State House, where they’ll see history come to life and connect their classroom learning to the real world.

Lobby Glow Up

Over the summer, our lobby got a makeover to include flexible learning spaces. It can be used for small groups, whole-class lessons, and everything in between.
This week, Ms. Perry’s fourth graders spread out in the bright, comfy space to work on writing and typing projects. A perfect spot to learn, collaborate, and shine!
