Picture Day is Coming to JJIS

Picture day will be Thursday October 9th.
Students will get individual pictures taken as well as class pictures.
Please see the flyer attached for the school access code and ordering details.

Come meet your child's teachers and see what they are doing in their classrooms. Be sure to stop in to see our specials teachers also. We are looking forward to seeing all our families.

PPIS Rocks at Jackter!

Each month at Jackter, students are recognized for showing our ROCKS behavior model. These students go above and beyond to demonstrate responsibility, respect, and positive choices in our school community.

Winners are celebrated with exciting awards such as, Lunch with the Principals, Attendance Folder Delivery Person, and Morning Announcement Helper.

We’re so proud of our ROCKS role models and can’t wait to see who shines next month!

School Store is Opening!

We’re excited to share that our School Store will open for the first time this year on Tuesday, October 7th, from 8:20–8:45 a.m. for Grade 5 students.

New this year: the store will be run Jackter students as part of our HotSpot program!

Additional dates will be announced soon for grades 3 and 4 students.

What's Happening at JJIS

Building a Thinking Classroom

Mrs. DiLauro’s 3rd grade class has been working hard together on vertical surfaces using white books. These tasks are part of creating a thinking classroom in math, where collaboration and creativity go hand in hand with critical problem solving.

Students love working out their ideas and solutions on the wipe boards. Through gallery walks, they also get to see and learn from alternate strategies, building a deeper understanding of math concepts while celebrating each other’s thinking.
