Residency Verification for Grades 3, 6, and 9

Posted Date: 7/29/25 (5:00 PM)

Dear Colchester Public Schools Families,

We hope everyone is enjoying their well deserved time-off during Summer Break!

As a reminder, Policy 5118 requires all families to provide proof of residency when a student is first registered and again whenever a student transitions to a new school within the district (such as moving from Colchester Elementary School to Jack Jackter Intermediate School or William J. Johnston Middle School to Bacon Academy).

What You Need to Do:

To help us stay up to date, we’re asking families who have students advancing to a new school,  to submit current proof of residency through PowerSchool.

How to Submit Proof of Residency in PowerSchool

  1. Log In to PowerSchool
     Visit: https://colchester.powerschool.com/public
     Enter your username and password.

  2. Select Your Student
If you have more than one child, select the appropriate student at the top of the screen.

  3. Go to “Forms”
Use the menu on the left-hand side to click on "Forms".

  4. Complete the Residency Verification Form

    • Look for the form titled “Residency Verification.”

    • Upload your documentation—this may include a tax bill, mortgage bill, lease, and two recent utility bills (dated within the last 30 days).

    • Once everything is filled out, click “Submit” at the bottom of the form.

  5. Repeat for Each Student
Please complete a separate form for each student enrolled in Colchester Public Schools.

If you have any questions or need help with the process, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I will be happy to assist in any way I can. We have noticed that large files (pictures from a cell phone) are too large to upload, you will need to compress the photo or take a photo with a lower resolution.

Thank you so much for your attention to this important step—we truly appreciate your support in helping us keep our records current and accurate.

Best Regards,

Barbara
