Reminders

• AM Drop Off Parents: To minimize congestion on Halls Hill Road,  please pull up as far as you can in the front drop off area before letting your student out the passenger side of your vehicle, regardless of your child's grade level and point of entry into school. Students will be supervised by staff as they walk along the sidewalk to enter the building at their respective entrance. 

1. Adults should remain in the car at all times.  If your child needs your assistance getting out of the car, please park your car in the designated parking areas.
2. When exiting the driveway, please take a right to avoid a traffic back up at CES as parents and buses navigate their child drop off.  If you are also dropping off at CES, please watch for the officer on duty who will be directing traffic. 
3. Thank you for your understanding and assistance. 

• As we enter into the winter months and its cold, blustery weather, we ask that you continue to remind your child to wear their winter gear i.e., hats, gloves, and coats. Students will continue to go outdoors for recess as the temperatures allow.  Students will need snow boots to play on the large field when there is snow on the ground. Thank you!

Calling All Inventors - Annual Invention Convention

All students in Grades 3-5 are encouraged to participate in JJIS's Invention Convention! The Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC) is a program which builds inquiry skills in children by introducing and leading them through the creation of their own invention. For more information:

JJIS Senate Food Drive

The JJIS Senate is sponsoring a food drive January 30 - Feb 10 to support the Colchester Food Bank. Bring in a non-perishable food item to donate.  Place it in the Kansas City Chiefs box or the Philadelphia Eagles box in the lobby.

Colchester Youth Lacrosse

Registration is now open for Colchester Youth Lacrosse sports recreation program. This opportunity is available to all boys and girls from kindergarten to 8th grade! We accept all applicants. Our program uses positive reinforcement by developing team players and leaders. Our focus is to develop the players in a fun atmosphere and introduce them to a fast, growing easy to play sport.
